Peninsula Youth For Christ (PYFC) was founded in 2006 as a direct result of vision and prayer as a way to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the young people on the Hoo Peninsula. It is one of the 70 registered local centres of Youth for Christ (YFC), a national Christian organisation founded by Billy Graham in 1946. PYFC is an independent charitable trust, managed by a board of committed trustees who oversee the work of our Senior Youth Worker, Gemma Evans. Gemma’s work is highly valued by the Youth for Christ movement. It is ground breaking work, set in the Hundred of Hoo School Secondary School on the Hoo Peninsula in Rochester Kent, and it really makes a difference to the young people, especially young women, who attend the school.
Over the last five years Gemma has initiated many projects within the school including Rock Solid, Breathe (a spiritual awareness resource), Nomad and Wise Up. She has also had the opportunity to work alongside vulnerable young people in small group settings, and on a one to one basis as a Listening Ear.
Gemma has also supported outreach youth work on the Hoo Peninsula during this time and, excitingly, PYFC is currently exploring options to add to the success of the work within the Hundred of Hoo School by being involved in youth work projects in and for the wider peninsula communities.
PYFC is a Registered Charity. Our Registered No. is 1114569
